DSP Week: Meet Tamson

Finding the Joy in Every Day

Tamson has been with the Advocacy and Resource Center since February, working as a Direct Support Professional at ExploreAbility and helping out at Inspiration Way. Tamson starting at the ARC has given her a new perspective on the people she supports and all that they are capable of.

“I think definitely it’s more eye-opening to see the different abilities that people with disabilities have, all the things they can do still, even with any challenges they may face,” she said.

Tamson’s previous job at a local bakery and breakfast spot gave her an introduction to some familiar faces at ARC. Several of the people she now supports were regular customers, making the transition to ARC feel a little more familiar.

One of Tamson’s favorite parts of her job is being able to get out into the community. She has enjoyed trips to the Wild Center, walking trails downtown and visiting the monument, and said that whenever there is an opportunity to go somewhere, she is ready to go.

Working at ARC has also taught Tamson skills she never expected to develop, particularly sign language. She has learned the different ways individuals communicate, including their own forms of signs, which help her understand when someone is hungry, needs to use the bathroom, or wants something.

Tamson said one of the biggest surprises about the job was how hands-on it can be. Over time, though, she has learned to adapt and said many things eventually become second nature.

“It’s a rewarding job, but it’s not always easy,” she said.

Even though she is still relatively new to ARC, Tamson has already become someone her coworkers can count on. One coworker said that, especially considering Tamson’s age and how little time she has been with the agency, she has “her head on right” and has quickly become someone other staff can go to when they need help.

Tamson credits Lauren Winterbottom as someone she can rely on and learn from.

“We bounce off of each other,” Tamson said.

Her advice for anyone considering becoming a DSP is simple: take it day by day. “Literally, every day is a new day and different.”

Outside of work, Tamson plays softball in a women’s league, usually at third base or centerfield.

Tamson once wanted to become a nurse because she liked the idea of caring for people. If her 12-year-old self could see her now, she thinks she would be cheering her on.

“She’d be absolutely screaming at the top of her lungs, ‘Yeah, you did it!’”

When she needs a little energy during the workday, Tamson reaches for an Alani or Red Bull. Her favorite Alani flavors include Green Apple, Witch’s Brew and Sunkist Blue Raspberry. And if she ever gets the chance to take the mic for karaoke, her go-to song is “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.”

For Tamson, every day at ARC is different, and she’s happy to take it one day at a time.

A New Path for Rich

After working in various fields, including retail, media, television production, broadcast news, and telecommunications, Rich Whittaker has spent the last six months settling into a different kind of role at the Advocacy and Resource Center. Rich currently works at ExploreAbility, supporting individuals through our Day Habilitation program.

Rich is originally from Ithaca, but moved to the area for college at SUNY Plattsburgh, where he studied TV-Video Production and Mass Media Communications. His background and experiences from various jobs have prepared Rich for most things in this field.

When Rich was 12, he had his sights set on becoming an aerospace engineer. He became interested in the field after completing a school report on it and spent time reading about the profession and imagining what his future might look like. As he got older, however, he realized that math was not his strongest subject and began looking in a different direction.

That eventually led Rich to television production. While still in high school, he took training courses and became involved with public access television, where he directed and produced shows. His interest continued into college, where he discovered a particular passion for field videography and editing.

His background and experiences from various jobs have prepared Rich for most things in this field.

“There are certain things you can’t prepare for, but you learn to adapt,” said Rich.

Rich had no hesitation when asked what he considers the best part of his job: the people he supports.

“It’s being able to help enrich their lives and discover things about themselves they didn’t know,” he said.

Rich works in the Titans group at EA, where he describes his job as supporting individuals through activities and individualized assistance to make their days a little bit better. For him, he says, that’s all he can ask for. Rich has also been able to share some of the coping skills he has learned throughout his own life. For him, those moments are part of what makes the work meaningful.

Rich has been influenced heavily by a couple of people within the agency. His “buddy,” Jerimie Pecue, has been a big support for Rich. “He’s always checking in with me.”

Amanda Rock has also made a positive impact on Rich’s ARC experience. “She’s the mother of the room. Anytime I’ve had questions, I go to her. She’s done it and seen it all. She’s always a good sounding board. We call her Mother Rock.”

From his experience so far, Rich says that he’s learned better time management. He plans his day, as much as anyone can, writing notes and completing documentation whenever he has a spare moment.

Not every day is easy, no matter how much you plan. Rich says that during high-tension moments, his training has kicked in and helped him support the individuals and his co-workers.

His advice to others in the role is simple: don’t let the small things get to you.

“If you need to, step out, take a breather, come back in,” Rich said.

Outside of work, Rich is a big professional wrestling fan. He briefly recalled his days working on Public Access Television, where he and his friends would live-react to wrestling events and take call-ins while streaming wrestling content. While Rich has left amateur wrestling behind, he does enjoy getting out for hikes at Point au Roche. Rich lives with his wife, Jaime, their teenage daughter, and their many pets, including cats, lizards, and snakes, oh my!

A lifelong fan of tv and movies, Rich’s is currently watching Abbott Elementary, but his favorites include Scrubs, Psych, Chuck, and The Big Bang Theory.

When it comes to some of the lighter questions, Rich’s go-to karaoke song is “Angels” by Robbie Williams, and his favorite work drink is an Alani Nu Orange Kiss.

Looking back on his first six months at ARC, Rich says he is grateful he took a chance on a career he wasn’t sure he had the skillset for.

“I’m very appreciative of my experience and time here. It’s a job I didn’t know if I had the skillset to do, but I’m glad I did and do, because it’s made me more fulfilled and I enjoy giving back.”

Give It a Chance: Kirsten’s DSP Story

Kirsten Bliven has been with the Advocacy and Resource for just over two years. During her time with the agency she’s worked both relief and full-time positions. Kirsten currently works at our Peru IRA, but is in the process of transferring back to our Orchard Way residence, a place that holds a special spot in her heart.

Kirsten was referred to the ARC by a friend. Having previously worked as a camp counselor and in retail, working in direct care was a new experience for Kirsten.

“I never would have chosen this on my own. This has been a nice surprise of a job,” Kirsten said.

When describing her role to someone who’s never worked in direct care, Kirsten notes that she works in the homes of the people she supports. “It’s their house,” she said. The best comparison she can make is to being a “supportive friend.”

“All jobs have responsibilities, but this is people’s lives.”

Of all the skills that she’s gained in her role, Kirsten herself is most surprised by how much she’s taken to the healthcare side of her job.

“All of the medical aspects, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, bolus feeds and giving medications through a G-tube, I used to think I couldn’t work in healthcare, but I’m comfortable here.”

Through all the serious aspects of her job, Kirsten also appreciates the fun moments. Spending time with the people she supports, listening to music, dancing, singing and finding ways to make their days a little better are some of her favorite parts of the job.

At the same time, Kirsten knows the work can be difficult. This job can be physically and emotionally draining, especially as staff build close relationships with the people they support.

“You get attached to the people we support, when you see them decline in health, it’s tough.”

Kirsten credits Daphne Gricoski and Jenn Toohill for being supportive mentors to herself and other staff, especially at Orchard Way.

Even on tough days, Kirsten’s known for having a positive attitude.

“I don’t dress like it, but I picture myself as a ray of sunshine, I hope I make peoples’ days a little bit better,” said Kirsten.

A self-proclaimed girly-girl, who loves all things pink, Kirsten dreamed of being a fashion designer when she was 12. When asked what her 12 year old self would think about where she is today, Kirsten said, “I never pictured myself in this field or healthcare. I’m proud of myself.”

Outside of work, Kirsten is an avid concertgoer. She recently saw Harry Stiles (for the 4th time) at Madison Square Garden. Some of her other favorite concert experiences include Five Seconds of Summer, The Weekend, Tyler the Creator, along with a trip to Osheaga music festival. Montreal has become Kirsten’s go to spot for entertainment and exploring the city’s food and culture.

Given how much Kirsten loves music, it makes sense that if she could learn one skill instantly, she would want to play the drums, or any instrument. As someone who loves to sing, hand her a microphone at karaoke and she’s likely to choose an Adele song, “for the drama.”

There are two things that Kirsten needs to make it through her workdays – Dunkin’ Pink Lemonade Refreshers and string cheese.

Kirsten feels very fortunate to be in the position she’s in. When asked what advice she’d give to someone thinking about starting their career as a DSP, she has a clear message: give it a chance.

“All change is hard at first, just give it a chance,” she said. “At first, it can be a lot. It’s intimidating, but once you’re comfortable and know the routine, it’s great.”

Five Years of Making a Difference: Meet Taran

It has been five years since Taran started with the Advocacy and Resource Center, and in that time, he’s found one of the most meaningful parts of his job to be building relationships with the people he supports.

Taran started with the agency in July 2021 at our Maine Road IRA. Originally from Florida, he cites moving to New York and balancing life as a single dad as one of his proudest accomplishments.

For Taran, working overnight is about much more than simply staying awake. He supports individuals with intellectual disabilities throughout the night, making sure they are safe, healthy, and ready for the day ahead.

“I enjoy the individuals that I care for at Maine Road,” Taran said. “I believe I have been with them long enough to have caused positives in their lives, and I like that their families trust me to care for them and keep them safe.”

That connection extends beyond the typical overnight routine. Taran recently had a fun experience when he went camping with two individuals from Cliff Haven.

Before starting at the agency, Taran worked as an assistant chef. A natural night owl, at 12 years old Taran hoped to have a job either cooking or helping the elderly population. Looking back at what he is doing now, his 12-year-old self would probably approve.

Over the years, the job has taught Taran an important skill: patience. He also tries to learn something from everyone he works with. Known for his positive attitude, Taran noted the wonderful team of people he works with every day.

Outside of work, it might surprise his coworkers to know that Taran spins fire and electric poi (LED spinning props). He is also the father of a teenager and the owner of a rescued Whippet mix. He’s always up for a cup of coffee, but if you’re looking for someone to take the mic at karaoke, the answer is an emphatic “absolutely not.”

The Job He Never Expected

Nick has been a Direct Support Professional at the Mason Street location since late June, and in just a few months, he has already found a job he says is unlike any he has had before.

Originally from Long Island, Nick recently graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a degree in Communications and TV Production. He was looking for a job in the area when a friend and former employee recommended the ARC.

A big part of Nick’s role is getting out into the community with the people he supports. Whether it’s a trip to Ausable Chasm, a stop at the mall, or a visit to Stewart’s, he enjoys helping the people he supports get out, try new things, and have fun.

Nick says one of the biggest misconceptions about DSP work is that it is simply caregiving or telling people what to do. He wants people to understand that the individuals they support have their own freedoms and rights. DSPs are there to support people in making their own decisions, not making those decisions for them.

He also brings his sense of humor to the job. Nick says being funny helps him encourage and prompt the people he supports, while making the day more enjoyable for everyone.

Nick credits Tara Ford with being an important influence since he started. “She’s been super helpful and shown me how to do anything and everything,” he said.

When asked what his 12-year-old self, who dreamed of becoming a movie director and working in a creative field, would think about what he is doing today, Nick said he would probably be surprised.

“I never thought about this line of work until within the last year, but I’m so glad I’m here.”

Outside of work, Nick lives with his girlfriend, Morgan. The two recently adopted a cat named Lady Rainicorn. If Nick could instantly learn one new skill, he says he would choose to play guitar, something he has always wanted to do. And when it comes to karaoke, his go-to song is “Voodoo” by Godsmack.

Of course, getting through his workdays requires one essential item: coffee.

When asked what advice he would give someone considering becoming a DSP, Nick kept it simple: “Just that you should do it. It’s a fun job. This is probably the best job I’ve ever had. You’ll meet people and have great experiences.”

DSP Week: Meet Tia

Tia started at the Advocacy and Resource Center in December 2025 and quickly found that the relationships she builds with the people she supports are one of the best parts of being a Direct Support Professional.

Tia grew up outside of Utica and came to the Plattsburgh area for college, initially planning to pursue speech-language pathology. As her plans changed, she began looking for a different career path. She had heard about the agency and its residential services from a former roommate and, after hearing good things, decided to give it a try.

She started at Mason Street before transferring to Woodwinds, where she works today. One of her favorite parts of the job is simply spending time with the people she supports.

“I’m always busy, but it doesn’t feel like work,” Tia said. “It feels like a second home sometimes, and I hope I make them feel like this is their home.”

Tia especially enjoys the humor that develops over time. She has learned that even people who do not communicate in traditional ways can still share a joke, a smile and some laughs.

One of Tia’s favorite memories comes from her time at Mason Street, where she built a close relationship with one of the people she supported. She remembers encouraging him to use good manners and eventually hearing him say “excuse me” after a burp, a small moment that stuck with her.

Her experience as a DSP has also taught Tia lessons she did not expect. While she always considered herself a patient person, she says the job has helped her develop even more patience and a better understanding of what other people may be experiencing.

“I would say my biggest strength is my work ethic and trying to be proactive,” she said. “The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Sometimes I need to be annoying to advocate for others.”

That willingness to speak up has also been encouraged by the people Tia has worked with since joining ARC. Cathy Sterling encouraged her to advocate for herself and helped her learn who to turn to when she needed support. Her supervisor, Ashley McNeil, has also been an important influence.

“Ashley is very calm in the way she goes about things,” Tia said. “She’s very low pressure but also has expectations. She’s a hoot and a holler.”

Outside of work, Tia enjoys reading, especially Stephen King, and spending time creating art. She would love to improve her painting skills and learn more about realistic painting. She is also hoping to pick up embroidery. Her interests also reflect a long-standing love of being outdoors.

When she was 12, Tia says she probably would have chosen a job in a national park or somewhere surrounded by nature. Looking back at the person she was at 12, Tia thinks that younger version of herself would be proud of who she has become.

“I think she would say I’m pretty cool,” she said.

If given the chance to pick up a microphone, Tia’s go-to karaoke song is “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette. At work, her drink of choice is a Celsius Wild Berry.

For anyone considering becoming a DSP, Tia has simple advice: know yourself, ask for what you need and do not be afraid to advocate for yourself.

More Than a Job: Meet Orianna

At just 20 years old, Orianna has already learned that being a Direct Support Professional is about much more than helping someone through their day. It’s about building relationships, encouraging independence, and being there through both the good days and the difficult ones.

Orianna has been a Direct Support Professional at the ARC’s Church Street location for a little over a year. A graduate of CV-TEC, she originally gained experience through a work-study program before eventually finding her way to the ARC. She had previously worked as a mechanic for Della, and when her dad, who worked at the ARC, recommended the position, she decided to give it a try.

Her favorite part of being a DSP is simple: the relationships.

“I like the relationships that you build with the individuals and getting to hang out with them all day,” she said.

One of her favorite memories so far was attending the Applefest Parade last year. For Orianna, it was a great example of simply getting out and enjoying an experience together.

When friends or family ask what she does, she describes it as supporting people with the things they need a little extra help with, making sure they have good days, and being there for them on the bad ones.

The job has also helped Orianna grow personally. She says she used to struggle with social anxiety, but working as a DSP has helped bring her out of her shell.

She also hopes people understand that supporting someone doesn't mean doing everything for them. A big part of the job is helping people build independence, stay active and engaged, and enjoy their lives.

One of Orianna’s strengths is organization, particularly when it comes to keeping documentation in order. She also carries a simple reminder with her throughout the workday: “This is a workplace, but this is the home of the people we support.”

Orianna credits Michelle Hart, who works alongside her at the Church Street location, as an important mentor. She says Michelle has taught her everything since she started.

Outside of work, Orianna spends her time hobby farming, caring for chickens and ducks, tending to a flower and herb garden, and enjoying anything involving animals. When she was 12, she wanted to become a veterinarian, and that love for animals has stayed with her.

Looking back, her 12-year-old self probably wouldn’t have expected her to be doing what she does today. But Orianna has found something meaningful in the work and in the people she spends her days with.

“The fact that it’s everyone living life, and we’re all learning together.”

This week, ARC had the distinct honor of hosting New York State Assemblymember Michael Cashman for a meaningful and mission-focused visit.

The visit was centered on direct conversation and real-world impact. We were thrilled to have Board Member and President of our Self-Advocacy group, Mark Fournier, participate in the discussion. Speaking from his lived experience, Mark shared his thoughts on critical issues facing our employees: the importance of stable staffing, and the urgent need for fair, livable wages.

Mark highlighted how, for him and others who reside in our residential facilities, staff are more than just people filling schedules — they are a source of trust, safety, and quality supports for individuals receiving services. Retention happens when staff are paid wages that reflect the hard work and dedication to their positions. The more staff we retain, the people we support thrive.

Assemblymember Cashman was given a tour of our ExplorAbility program, greeted by dozens of smiling faces. He listened intently, asking thoughtful and engaging questions of our team regarding the daily realities of providing care. It’s a powerful reminder that real change can happen when policy makers step out of the Capitol and into the community to see the mission in action.

For ARC, advocacy is not a once-a-year event – it’s an ongoing commitment. Visits like this ensure our elected officials understand both the challenges we face as an employer, and the incredible dedication of our staff who show up every single day.

We are grateful to Assemblymember Cashman for taking the time to listen, learn, and witness the heart of our work.

1. Shania: A Nature Lover and Gardener

Shania joined ARC in November 2022 and has brought a green thumb and a love for the outdoors to our team. Here are five things to know about her:

She cares for 50 houseplants and her own garden during the summer. A greenhouse is her dream project for year-round gardening!
Her free time is spent spoiling her five cats, fish, and turtles with attention and treats.
Shania enjoys antiquing and searching thrift stores for unique finds, especially items from the Sears Merry Mushroom collection.
Hiking in the Adirondacks brings her peace and happiness, with her favorite moments spent atop the mountains.
A big fan of fall and winter, Shania looks forward to attending Plattsburgh State Cardinals hockey games with her family as a season ticket holder.

Continuing our celebration of DSP Week, we are thrilled to introduce more of the amazing individuals who dedicate their time and talent to the Advocacy and Resource Center. Their unique interests and passions add so much to our community. Let’s meet them!

2. Rebecca: A DSP Apprenticeship Graduate

Rebecca is a recent graduate of the DSP Apprenticeship Program, a two-year journey that combines on-the-job training and classwork. Here’s her experience in her own words:

“Tracking daily tasks reminded me how every moment we work is important. Tasks like keeping the house organized are actually about keeping the home safe.”
She valued speaking with other DSPs from across New York State, learning from their experiences and sharing ideas.
Rebecca says the program improved her stress management and interpersonal communication skills, both in and out of work.
She is grateful to her teachers, advisors, and HR staff for their support throughout the program.
Rebecca’s dedication ensures she continues to provide exceptional care while staying motivated and inspired.

4. Kat: A Special Olympics Coach and Family-Oriented DSP

Kat began her journey with ARC in October 2023, bringing a supportive and energetic presence to the team. Here’s what makes her special:

She is a coach for the Special Olympics, specializing in soccer and swimming.
As the eldest of five sisters, Kat takes her role as a big sister seriously.
Her favorite holiday is her birthday, January 24th, which she celebrates enthusiastically each year.
Kat’s favorite TV shows include Glee, MHA, and Ghost Whisperer.
She values her relationships with friends and family, always bringing positivity and encouragement to her role as a DSP.

5. Racheal: A Passionate Cook and World Traveler

Racheal joined ARC in February 2022, bringing energy and enthusiasm to her work. Here’s what you should know about her:

She loves to travel and has explored Puerto Rico, with dreams of visiting Hawaii in the future.
Racheal’s passion for cooking shines through in her signature dish: jollof rice with fried turkey.
Being around the ladies at Orchard Way and seeing their happiness is one of her greatest joys.
She’s full of energy both in and out of work, bringing positivity wherever she goes.
Dancing and having a good time are always at the top of her list!

Despite her love for nature, Ivy is also a homebody who enjoys playing video games with her husband and friends.
Arts and crafts are a passion, and she loves decorating her home with handmade creations.
Ivy’s family is her world, and she cherishes evenings playing board games after family dinners.
Music fuels her spirit, with her playlist ranging from rock and alternative to pop punk—and a secret love for pop music!

Spotlighting the Exceptional DSPs Who Make a Difference

1. Angela: A Grandmother and Christmas Enthusiast

Angela joined the ARC family in October 2023 and has brought warmth and joy ever since. Here are five things to know about her:

She is a proud grandmother of four: Mason, Allie, Remington, and Brandon. She cherishes the special love that comes with having grandkids.
Christmas is her favorite time of the year. Her tree is up by October 1st, and she keeps a cabinet filled with her beloved snowman figurines year-round.
Angela plays softball in a women’s fun league, where she shines as a pitcher.
After undergoing gastric bypass, she lost 175 pounds in just one year.
She is incredibly thankful for her circle of friends, her family, and her rewarding job. Angela learns something new every day and values the individuals who have changed her life.

2. Paytyn: A Future Nurse with a Passion for Helping Others

Since starting at ARC in July 2018, Paytyn has been an inspiring presence. Here are five things to know about her:

She loves to travel and has visited every state on the East Coast, Mexico, and Canada. Her dream destinations include Italy and Bali.
Paytyn adores her Golden Retriever, Myla, and enjoys taking her on walks around the neighborhood and nearby trails.
She is in her final year of nursing school and aspires to be a labor and delivery nurse.
She’s passionate about helping people and making a difference in their lives.

3. Melanie: A Hardworking Outdoors Lover

Melanie, who joined ARC in July 2017, is a dedicated and adventurous DSP. Here’s what you should know about her:

She has two horses, Spartan and Buddy, and has loved riding since the age of seven.
Melanie enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, camping, and swimming during her free time.
She is a mother to three children, aged 11, 8, and 6.
A true workaholic, Melanie balances two full-time jobs, including working at High Peaks Dental as a receptionist and AR representative.
She loves traveling to new places, ensuring her family takes a vacation somewhere different each year.

Dunkin' Donuts coffee is a daily must for her—she can’t go a day without it!
In her downtime, she enjoys relaxing and watching Netflix.
A self-proclaimed neat freak, Kourtney takes pride in keeping things clean and organized.

6. Camille: A Runner and Rising Leader

Camille joined ARC in November 2023 and has already made a big impression. Here’s what you should know about her:

She’s training for her first marathon, aiming to complete it before the snow falls.
Camille comes from a large family of 12 siblings—she’s the sixth youngest!
She’s engaged to be married next year.
Fishing is one of her favorite pastimes, and she enjoys catching bass in Lake Champlain, Tupper Lake, and the Saranac Chain.
Within just five months of starting, Camille was promoted to Supervisor—a role she loves.

5. Evan: A Multi-Talented Musician and DSP Veteran

Evan has been with ARC since September 2015 and is an incredible asset to the team. Here are five things you should know about him:

He has been part of the Advocacy and Resource Center for nearly nine years, spending most of his time at Turner Road.
Evan is a musician who plays guitar in a band called Lazarus Vector and owns a piercing business called PUNKture Piercing.
Inspired by his mother, who also worked in this field, Evan knew from a young age that he wanted to become a DSP.
He and his children are die-hard New York Rangers fans.
Evan has a passion for collecting horror memorabilia and movies.

Spotlighting the Amazing People We Support

This March, in honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we are celebrating the remarkable individuals we support by sharing their stories, interests, and dreams. Each person brings unique talents, perspectives, and joy to our community. Let’s meet some of these incredible individuals and learn what makes them shine!

1. Brenda: A Lover of Music, Animals, and Fun

Brenda lights up the room with her energy and joy for life. Here are five things to know about her:

She loves listening to music, especially upbeat tunes she can dance to. Slow or sad music makes her cry.
Bumpy trail rides make her happy. She enjoys the feeling of the wind against her face and hair and can't help but laugh when going over the bumps.
Brenda is a big fan of visiting Bankers Orchards and the petting zoo, where her favorite animals are llamas and baby goats.
She has a playful side and enjoys mischievously escaping from blankets or being repositioned, finding laughter in the small joys.
A self-proclaimed homebody, Brenda loves watching movies and giving hugs to friends and staff. Her strong hugs are her way of spreading smiles and laughter.

2. James: Aspiring Security Guard and Horror Movie Buff

James dreams big and lives with passion. Here are five things to know about him:

His goal is to work as a security guard at a hospital, as safety is very important to him.
He has a fascination with the fire department, often listening to his fire scanner at home, even if it wakes him up at night!
James cherishes the memory of riding in a District #3 fire truck during a July 4th parade, where he honked the horn and turned on the siren. He hopes to visit the fire station again and wear the gear.
He enjoys staying connected by texting, Snapchatting with his brother, and emailing friends and staff.
James loves horror movies and dressing up as different characters, with Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger being his favorites.

3. Heather: A Sports Enthusiast and Dog Lover

Heather’s zest for life and love of sports inspire everyone she meets. Here are five things to know about her:

NASCAR is her favorite sport, and her favorite drivers are #9 Chase Elliott and #23 Bubba Wallace.
Heather adores her two dogs, Kenneth (black) and Bear Bear (gray), who live with her at her grandmother’s house.
Bowling is a long-time passion, and she excels at it, having participated in the Special Olympics for years.
She’s a die-hard New York Yankees fan, enjoying games on TV and in person. For her birthday last year, she visited Yankee Stadium!
Fishing is one of her favorite summer activities, as she loves spending time outdoors and soaking up the sun.

4. Bobby: A Musician and Team Player

Bobby brings joy to others through his music and his dedication to helping out. Here are five things to know about him:

Bobby works hard and takes pride in earning his own money, holding jobs at Wilson’s Appliance and West Side Ballroom.
A talented guitarist, he enjoys playing at home and performing concerts for others, often with his brother Wayne and friends.
He dreams of visiting Nashville, Tennessee, to play music and meet his favorite country artists, Alan Jackson and Vince Gill.
Bobby loves watching Hallmark movies, with Christmas films being his absolute favorite.
Kindness and respect are essential to him, and he enjoys helping out at home to make life easier for everyone.
